Dalmatians - elegant spotted dogs with spirited personalities
These unmistakable dogs with their brilliant white coats and characteristic black or brown spots must be among the most visually striking dog breeds in the world. Their origins reach far back in history, with the Croatian region of Dalmatia considered their homeland. Historically, these elegant, athletic pups were used as carriage dogs – they ran alongside horse-drawn carriages, protecting them and their passengers. This past shapes Dalmatians to this day: They’re enduring, energetic, and need plenty of both physical and mental stimulation.
